LAKELAND, Fla. | The No. 24 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team opened the 2022-23 campaign with a 101-81 loss to No. 4 Nova Southeastern on Saturday afternoon as part of the 2022 Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. UAH starts the season 0-1, while NSU improves to 1-0.

UAH is back in action at 10 a.m. CT on Sunday against No. 6 Lincoln Memorial to wrap up play at the 2022 SCB Hall of Fame Classic hosted by Florida Southern.

The Chargers offense was guided by
Max Shulman with a team-high 20 points to go along with three assists and two rebounds.

Chaney Johnson rated second on the offense with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting while leading the team with eight rebounds.

Dane Harding was the third Charger to reach double-digit points with 12 in the game, as he went 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.

The initial seven minutes of the contest was tightly contested with UAH trailing 14-12 with 13:42 remaining in the half, but the Sharks would go on to have a 58-38 advantage at the half.

UAH improved its efficiency on three-pointers in the second half by nailing 42.1 percent (8-19), but NSU would hold on to win the contest 101-81 on Saturday.

This is the second straight year UAH has been invited to play in the prestigious SCB Hall of Fame Classic and the third time overall in program history.
