UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's cross country team is set to race at the 2022 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Friday at 12 p.m. CT as the squad competes in its third straight Nationals.

This is the eighth time overall in program history the Chargers have earned a team berth to Nationals with UAH earning an at-large bid.

The Chargers will be competing as a team at Nationals for the third consecutive time and the eighth time overall in program history.

UAH – a USTFCCCA nationally ranked team throughout 2022 – garnered the at-large berth after placing fourth as a team at the 2022 NCAA Division II South Regional just outside of an automatic berth to Nationals.

Sophomore
Sam Wilhelm originally earned an individual berth to Nationals with a second-place finish at the regional championship with a program-best time of 31:11.8 in the 10K race.

UAH achieved its highest-ever finish at Nationals in the 2021 season with a 12th-place standing out of 34 competing teams, as the Chargers notched three runners in the top 80 of the field.

A live stream of the championships will occur on NCAA.com from 12 p.m. CT until the conclusion of the awards ceremony. The men's race will begin at 12 p.m. CT, followed by the women's race at 1:15 p.m. CT.
