HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team fell to Columbus State by a score of 78-61 on Sunday afternoon in nonconference action. UAH slides to 3-9, while CSU improves to 7-3.

Freshman
Andie Flatgard led the Chargers offense with 15 points on 7-of-14 shoting as she also added four rebounds and a team-high two steals over a roster-leading 37 minutes on the floor.

Flatgard was joined in double-digit scoring by a pair of teammates, including
Elyse Hughes with 12 points and
Jesse Jennings with 11 points.

Haelim Adle posted a team-best 13 rebounds and two assists, while scoring eight points in a strong all-around performance.

UAH shot 42.3 percent from the field (22-52), and the squad additionally held the edge in rebounding (43-34) and points in the paint (38-32).

Columbus State started off in the driver seat with a 20-12 lead over UAH after the initial quarter of play, but the Chargers would rebound to play the Cougars closely in the second as CSU took a 36-26 lead at the half.

The Cougars went on to outpace the Chargers in the second half by a margin of 42-35 to win 78-61 on Sunday.

UAH is back in action after the holiday break with Gulf South Conference matchups at Spragins Hall against Christian Brothers on Dec. 31 and Union on Jan. 2. Both games are set for 2 p.m. tip-offs.
