HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team fell to Christian Brothers by a final score of 84-63 on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in Gulf South Conference action. UAH slides to 3-10 (3-6 GSC), while CBU improves to 5-7 (3-6 GSC).

Haley Nichols led the Chargers offense overall on Saturday with 12 points in her 16 minutes of work, as she went 4-for-9 from the fields and 4-for-4 on free throws. She also had a team-high three assists.

Olivia Howard recorded a strong all-around performance, rating second on the team with 11 points while leading the squad with six rebounds and one block.

Andie Flatgard played a team-high 36 minutes on Saturday, while registering nine points, five rebounds and one assist.

A fast-paced first quarter ended up in a 21-21 tie between the Chargers and Buccaneers, as
Bellah Machen sank a buzzer-beater three-pointer to knot the contest in the waning moments.

Christian Brothers gained a three-point lead at the half as the visitors outpaced UAH 19-16 in the frame to hold a 40-37 advantage through 20 minutes. Flatgard notched her nine points on the afternoon in the opening half.

The Bucs extended their lead to 67-51 at the conclusion of the third quarter, and they went on to clinch the 84-63 victory over the Chargers in the fourth.

The Chargers are back in action in the New Year with a matchup on Monday at 2 p.m. against nationally-ranked Union at Spragins Hall.
