Chargers Drop Monday Meeting to No. 19 Bulldogs

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team dropped Monday's home matchup to No. 19 Union by a final score of 85-47 at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in Gulf South Conference action. UAH slides to 3-11 (3-7 GSC), while UU improves to 9-2 (7-2 GSC).
 
Freshman Haelim Adle generated a strong all-around performance for the Chargers with nine points, three rebounds and two assists across 27 minutes on the floor.
 
Olivia Howard tied Adle for the team lead in scoring with nine points as she also added one rebound and one steal.
 
Madie Krieger played a team-high 34 minutes against the Bulldogs, posting a roster-best two steals to go along with three rebounds.
 
Despite going 6-for-10 from the field in the first quarter, UAH trailed Union 27-14 after 10 minutes of play as Adle recorded seven of her nine points on the day in the frame.
 
The pace slowed in the second quarter with the Bulldogs outpacing the Chargers 18-9 in the stanza to give the visitors a 45-23 lead at the half.
 
Union went on to win 85-47 on Monday as the Bulldogs outscored the Chargers 40-24 in the second half to wrap up the GSC matchup.
 
UAH hits the road for the first time in the New Year with trips to play Valdosta State on Thursday and West Florida on Saturday.
