UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's cross country team wrapped up its season at the 2022 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Friday with a 27th place finish in the team standings.

Sophomore
Sam Wilhelm broke the program's 10K record for the second race in a row as the Knob Noster, Missouri, native clocked in at 30:45.6 for 51st overall on Friday.

His time bests the previous record set by Wilhelm at the 2022 NCAA South Regional at a time of 30:49.2.

Wilhelm was joined in the top 150 of the race by
Gabe Henneberger in 123rd at a time of 31:34.5 and
Allan Anderson in 130th at 31:40.5.

UAH's competitors on Friday additionally included
Will Thompson (200th, 32:33.7),
Nate Pohlsander (201st, 32:35.6),
Jack Elliott (213th, 32:42.8) and
Nathan Knox (215th, 32:47.0).

This was the Chargers third straight Nationals appearance and the eighth time overall for the program.
