VALDOSTA, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team fell in the final game of a three-game Gulf South Conference series by a score of 8-4 at Valdosta State on Sunday. UAH slips to 4-7 (1-2 GSC), while VSU improves to 6-4 (2-1 GSC).

Carson Villalta led the Chargers overall at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance that included one double and one run scored.

Jeff Hunter also had a multi-hit performance by going 2-for-4, while
Garrett Bodine drew the team's lone walk and scored a team-high two runs.

Connor Brooks started on the mound for the Chargers, as he worked 2.2 innings with five earned runs and three strikeouts. He took the loss to slip to 1-1 this season.

Valdosta State pulled ahead early with one run in the bottom of the first, before the Blazers notched a five-run rally in the third to own a 6-0 advantage.

UAH went on the board in the fourth with one run on an RBI ground-rule double by
Dylan Johnston, before cutting the lead to 6-2 in the fifth when
Brennan Vasquez lifted a sac fly to right to plate Bodine.

The Blazers scored twice in the sixth, which UAH followed up with two runs of their own in the seventh to bring the game to its 8-4 final score.

UAH looks ahead to four home games next week, beginning on Tuesday at 1 p.m. against Miles at Charger Park.
