HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team topped Miles by a final score of 12-6 at Charger Park on Tuesday afternoon in nonconference action. UAH improves to 5-7, while MC dips to 4-6.

The Chargers offense was led by
Garrett Bodine and
Carson Villalta, who both notched three-run homers in the game to go along with a walk apiece.

Mitchell Rottier finished with a team-high three hits and three runs scored, with
Jackson Lindsey and
Daniel McCary both rating second on the team with two-hit performances.

UAH utilized a total of 13 pitchers in the nonconference tilt, as
Aubry Cleghorn came away with the win in relief to improve to 1-0. He tossed 1.0 inning with no runs allowed.

Austin East,
Will Griffith,
Justin Perreault, and
Wells Deloney each tossed 1.0 scoreless inning out of the bullpen.

Miles went on the board with two runs in the first, and the Golden Bears would hold that lead until a four-run third by the Chargers that featured a three-run home run by Bodine made it 4-2 in favor of the hosts.

UAH added one run in the fourth to extend the lead to three runs, before a six-run eruption – featuring a three-run homer by Villalta – in the fifth pushed the Chargers lead to 11-2.

A solo home run by McCary in the sixth extended UAH's lead to 12-2, with MC scoring four times in the top of the ninth to bring the game to its 12-6 final.

UAH jumps back into Gulf South Conference play this Saturday and Sunday with a visit from Union. Saturday's doubleheader begins at noon, followed by a 1 p.m. first pitch Sunday.
