UAH Set for Two Home Contests Hosting Mississippi College and Delta State

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team is set to host two Gulf South Conference opponents in the Rocket City, taking on Mississippi College at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday before hosting Delta State in the regular season finale at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
 
The Chargers enter the contests at 6-16 (5-12 Gulf South Conference).

Saturday at The Stable is Senior Day with five UAH seniors, Selena Pruitt, Miajah Bullock, Adrian Grant, Holly Harris, and Sloan Mann, all to be honored.

UAH is coming off a week that saw the team in action three times, picking up wins against Auburn Montgomery and West Georgia while dropping a Wednesday night contest to West Alabama. 
 
Harris had a season-high 20 points in the victory over Auburn Montgomery to eclipse 1,000 points for her career on Monday, Feb. 14 and then set a new season-high for herself with a 24-point performance in the win over West Georgia. Alexis Woods had a season-high 24-point performance in the setback to West Alabama. 
 
The Chargers have three players averaging double digits on the season, led by Alexis Woods who is averaging 12.0 points per game, followed by Harris with 10.8 per game and Pruitt with 10.0. Woods ranks second in the GSC with a 57.0 percent field goal percentage and sixth in the conference with 8.6 rebounds per game.
 
Thursday's opponents come to Huntsville with a 14-11 record overall, and Mississippi College is 9-9 in league play while dropping three of its last five contests. Ally Alford leads the Choctaws offense scoring 13.2 points per game.

UAH is 13-6 all-time against MC, winning seven of the last 10 in the series, and the Chargers hold a 7-2 record when the matchup has taken place at Spragins Hall.
 
Delta State brings an 11-12 record and is 9-9 in GSC play. The Lady Statesmen dropped their most recent contest in a 70-69 setback at Montevallo on Saturday. DSU is averaging 63.3 points per game and Zyaire Ewing is scoring 13.5 per contest to lead Delta State followed closely by Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse averaging 13.4.
 
The Chargers are 11-23 in the all-time series with DSU. UAH has won the last five matchups that have been played in the Rocket City with the most recent being a 63-53 win at Spragins Hall on Jan. 15, 2021.
