HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team fell to visiting Sunshine State Conference member Florida Southern in nonconference action by a score of 19-5 on Friday afternoon at Charger Park. UAH slips to 6-14, while FSC improves to 12-9.

The Chargers offense was led by
Landon Ezzell who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI and two walks as he notched one of UAH's three extra-base hits with a two-run home run in the first.

Both
Austin Reed and
Carson Villalta had two base hits in the contest, with UAH posting nine hits overall in the game. One of Villalta's hits went for a double, while Reed collected a team-high two stolen bases.

Kody Keiser started on the mound for the Chargers, turning in 2.2 innings with five earned runs allowed and one strikeout. He dips to 0-4 on the season with the loss.

Will Griffith and
Collin Hollingsworth each tossed 1.0 scoreless inning out of the bullpen.

Florida Southern went ahead with two runs in the first, before Ezzell's two-run shot in the bottom half knotted the game at 2-2.

The Mocs went on to scored three times in the second and four times in the fourth to extend the lead to 9-2, with UAH scoring once in the fourth to make it a six-run game.

FSC erupted for six runs in the fifth and four runs in the sixth, as the Chargers scored once apiece in the fifth and eighth innings to bring the game to its 19-5 final score.

UAH and Florida Southern are tentatively scheduled to play a single game at 2 p.m. on Saturday to continue the three-game set.
