MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team started off a three-game Gulf South Conference series on Saturday with a doubleheader split at Auburn Montgomery, as UAH won the opener 11-5 before dropping game two 5-3. UAH moves to 9-16 (3-7 GSC), while AUM sits at 16-10 (6-5 GSC).

UAH 11, AUM 5
The Chargers won their third straight game on the back of a seven-run fourth inning which helped the squad to the 11-5 victory to start the series on Saturday.

UAH notched its most base hits in a GSC contest this season with a 15-hit outing for the Blue & White, led by
Landon Ezzell and
Mitchell Rottier with three hits apiece.

Garrett Bodine,
Jackson Lindsey and
Dylan Johnston each chipped in two base hits apiece in the win as well.

Seven different Chargers drove in at least one run in the series-opener, as Bodine,
Austin Reed and Johnston tied for the team lead with two RBI apiece.

Connor Brooks started on the mound for the Chargers, tossing 6.2 innings with five runs allowed and four strikeouts. His record improves to 3-3 with the win.

Will Hotalen was solid out of the bullpen, as he worked 2.1 scoreless innings with zero walks and three strikeouts.

AUM 5, UAH 3
The Warhawks scored four runs total through the first four innings to lead the Chargers, as the hosts would carry that advantage to a 5-3 win in game two of the doubleheader.

UAH registered seven base hits in the contest, led by
Daniel McCary and Rottier with two base hits apiece.

Rottier additionally led the team with two-RBI, as he delivered a two-RBI single in the fifth to highlight a three-run rally.

Tyler Self was the only Charger to see the mound in the night cap with the right-hander tossing 6.0 innings with five runs allowed and six strikeouts. His record slips to 2-3.
