UAH Earns 17-10 Win Over North Greenville Saturday

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's lacrosse team snapped its three-game slide on Saturday, beating North Greenville 17-10 in a neutral site contest held in Johns Creek, Georgia. UAH improves to 4-5 with the victory, while NGU falls to 4-5.

The Chargers were led by a trio of impressive offensive performances, with Ian Arnt's nine-point showing leading the way as he scored three times while adding six assists, and two other UAH players logged six-point games as Conor Young scored five times and added an assist and Brody Phillips had five assists to go along with his goal.

The six assists for Arnt represent the most in a single game by a Peach Belt Conference player this season, and his nine points are tied for the third highest.

Jake LeVette scored twice for UAH, while each of Hunter Coleman, Reid Vender, Jake Schramm, Will Ford, and Eric Rausch also each had a goal.

Coleman led the team with nine ground balls on the afternoon, and he was also 22-for-28 in face-offs.

Both Rausch and Brayden O'Neill caused a team-best two turnovers, and Zak Welsh made 10 stops in goal for the Chargers in the victory.

NGU scored the day's first goals, but UAH would then score 11 of the next 13 goals to take a wide 11-4 margin just inside the start of the third quarter. A run of four straight from the Crusaders would pull them within three at 11-8 at the 3:13 mark of third, but UAH finished the game scoring six of the final eight to claim the victory.

UAH outshot the Crusaders by a 42-30 difference including a 28-20 edge in shots on goal, and the Chargers picked up 33 ground balls compared to 25 for NGU.

The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, March 26, when the team plays its final non-conference game of the year with a visit from Lindenwood on tap. That contest is slated for a 1 p.m. start at Charger Park.
