HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team routed visiting Tennessee Southern by a score of 19-0 in seven innings at Charger Park on Wednesday afternoon. UAH improves to 10-17, while UTS slides to 7-17.

The Chargers offense recorded 15 base hits as a team in the win, led by
Garrett Bodine who went 5-for-5 with four runs scored and six RBI. Two of his five hits went for extra bases as he notched a double and a two-run homer during the game.

Carson Villalta finished second to Bodine with four hits on the day while scoring three runs and driving in one run.
Austin Reed rounded out the Chargers with multi-hit performances with a 2-for-4 day at the plate with two runs scored, a stolen base and a walk.

A total of eight Chargers combined for the shutout on the mound for the Blue & White, as starting pitcher
Brooks Tolbert earned the win after tossing a scoreless first inning.

Cory Hagood each worked a scoreless inning of relief.

The Chargers went ahead early with three runs in the bottom of the first, prior to a nine-run eruption in the second for a 12-0 lead. UAH went on to add two runs in the fourth and fifth, followed by a three-run rally in the sixth to bring the game to its 19-0 final score.

UAH looks ahead to a three-game Gulf South Conference series at Lee this Friday and Saturday.
