HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team is set for a return to Charger Park, welcoming Montevallo for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at 2 p.m. before hosting Mississippi College for a three-game set this weekend starting with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday before commencing with a noon single game on Sunday.
 
UAH enters the week at 17-11 and will carry a 7-8 conference record into the MC series.
 
In conjunction with the UAH Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the Office of International Studies, Women's History Month will be celebrated on Wednesday including a special ceremonial first pitch, while Saturday will be Military Appreciation Day presented by Qualis Corporation at Charger Park with numerous special features to the nation's heroes.
 
Admission to all of the games – and every regular season home game – is free courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

The Chargers have played just three games at Charger Park this season, and Wednesday's contests will mark the first in Huntsville for UAH since March 5.
 
Shelby Booker enters the week in the Rocket City atop UAH's batting average list as she is hitting .406 on the season, and her 17 runs rank third on the team, giving her 191 for her career which is the best mark among all active Division II players.
 
Batting .400 on the year is 
Kaylee Vaught, and with her 11 hits for extra bases – six doubles, four triples, and a home run – she is pacing the team with 27 RBI.
 
Montevallo comes to the Tennessee Valley as winners of three straight to have a 17-11 record, but the squad is 5-6 in road games this year. Lauren Hamby is batting a team-best .407, while Sierra Easterwood has driven a team-high 30 runs.
 
The weekend's opponent is 14-14 on the year and 7-10 in GSC action, and Mississippi College is on the road for the first time since March 14. Lisa McCall leads the team with a .356 average, and her team-best 21 RBI are matched by Anne Marie Peavy.
 
UAH is 10-3 all-time against Montevallo, and this will be the first time the two programs have met in Huntsville since 2018. After winning on the road in another non-conference doubleheader earlier this season, the Chargers have won four straight against the Falcons.
 
It is the Choctaws who lead the series between them and UAH by a 10-8 margin, but the Chargers hold a 4-2 edge at Charger Park.
