HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team dropped a nonconference game against Miles by a final score of 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon at Charger Park. UAH slips to 6-13, while MC improves to 9-9.

Carson Villalta and
Daniel McCary led the Chargers offense with two base hits and a walk each against the Golden Bears. Both
Mitchell Rottier and
Austin Reed had two walks on Wednesday as well.

Cole Turner made his first start on the mound for the Chargers this season, as the right-hander turned in 2.2 scoreless innings with one strikeout.

Brooks Tolbert took the loss in relief to slip his season record to 0-1, after tossing 2.0 innings of relief with three runs allowed and one strikeout.

After five straight scoreless innings to start the contest, Miles pulled ahead with a four-run rally in the top of the sixth to take the first lead.

UAH slimmed the deficit to 4-1 on a bases-loaded walk by
Mitchell Rottier in the bottom half of the sixth, but Miles would strike back with one-run in the top of the eighth to regain a four-run lead.

The Chargers notched two runs in the bottom of the eighth to cut the Golden Bears lead to 5-3, as Garett Bodine notched an RBI single and
Daniel McCary scored on a wild pitch.

Miles went on to score once in the ninth to bring the game to its 6-3 final score.

The Chargers look ahead to a three-game nonconference series against Sunshine State Conference member Florida Southern this Friday through Sunday at Charger Park. Friday and Saturday's contests are slated for 2 p.m., with Sunday's finale set for 12 p.m.
