HUNTSVILLE| The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team notched its first Gulf South Conference series sweep of the season with wins in both games of the doubleheader on Saturday at Charger Park against Mississippi College by scores of 5-4 and 4-1. UAH improves to 15-19 (8-9 GSC), while MC slides to 12-22 (6-12 GSC).

This is UAH's second straight GSC series win.

UAH starts a four-game road swing on Wednesday with a nonconference tilt at Christian Brothers on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

UAH 5, MC 4
The Chargers took the lead late again to win the second game of the series, as UAH's go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth would give the squad the 5-4 win to open the doubleheader on Saturday.

Freshman
Will Noles led the Chargers offense in the victory, going 3-for-4 with one run and two RBI, as
Garrett Bodine tied with Noles for the team hits with three as well.

Jeff Hunter also generated a multi-hit performance in the victory with a 2-for-4 day at the plate with two runs scored and a double. Both
Landon Ezzell and
Mitchell Rottier had one double to round out the Chargers three extra-base hits.

Connor Brooks started on the mound for the ninth time this season with the right-hander turning in 7.2 innings with four runs, zero walks and eight strikeouts for a no-decision.

Will Hotalen picked up the win in relief to improve to 1-1 this season, after tossing the final 1.1 innings with zero runs allowed and one strikeout.

UAH 4, MC 1
The Chargers would again come out as the winner in the pitchers' duel with the Choctaws, as UAH went ahead in the bottom of the sixth with a three-run rally to complete the series sweep with a 4-1 win in game two on Saturday.

Tyler Self dominated on the mound for the Blue & White, tossing the full 7.0 innings with five hits, one run allowed, one walk and four strikeouts. His record improves to 3-4 with the victory.

Garrett Bodine led UAH in the hit column with a 2-for-3 performance out of the lead-off spot while also scoring one run. One of his two hits went for a double.

Carson Villalta – Friday night's hero – put the Chargers ahead in the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run to centerfield, which was followed by a two-RBI single by
Austin Reed to make it a three-run rally for the Chargers.

UAH has now won six of its last eight games.
