HUNTSVILLE | The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association has announced the rosters for the 2022 Division II Senior All-Star Game, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville has been represented by South Team choices
Cara Brown,
Hailey Gallant, and
Darby Smith.
This is the first time in conference history that the Gulf South Conference will be represented at the contest.
During the Chargers third consecutive GSC championship-winning season, Brown scored a league-high 71 goals while adding seven assists for a conference-best total of 78 points, earning her GSC Player of the Year. On the defensive side, Smith posted personal career-best numbers, picking up a conference-high 48 ground balls and forcing 26 turnovers from opponents to earn GSC Defensive Player of the Year.
Gallant was a crucial piece of UAH's offense in the title-winning year, ranking second on the team behind Brown with 54 points, and ranked fourth in the conference with 22 assists on the season.
The IWLCA also announced the rosters for the 2022 Senior All-Star games for Division I and III. The players selected in each division have been divided into two teams: North and South. The Senior All-Star games will be played at Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Sunday, June 5, 2022. The Division II game is scheduled for 1:30 pm CT and will follow the Division III (10 am CT) and Division I games (11:45 am CT). Admission for all three games is free of charge, the games will not be streamed.
