NEW ORLEANS | The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its 2022 preseason national rankings on Tuesday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's team was rated No. 18 nationally.

The Chargers have now been in the USTFCCCA national rankings for 17 consecutive weeks, dating back to the second week's rankings of the 2019 season.

UAH is additionally ranked second in the South Region on the men's side, while the Chargers women's squad is rated sixth regionally.

The Chargers men's team is coming off its third consecutive Gulf South Conference title in the 2021 campaign, as the squad additionally boasted its highest-ever team finish at Nationals with a standing of 12th out of 34 competing teams.
