Michael Gizzi wrapped up competition at the 2022 World Athletics U-20 Championships on Friday night as he competed in both the 100-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay.

A native of Covington, Georgia, Gizzi started off his time at the U-20 World Championships with a ninth-place time of 10.35 in the preliminary round of the 100-meter sprint which qualified him for the semifinals.

Gizzi bested his prelims time in the semifinal round at a clocking of 10.30 for ninth place, which was just .01 seconds away from qualifying for the finals.

He additionally competed with USA's 100-meter relay team, as he helped the nation to the bronze in the final round of the event at a time of 39.57. The relay squad had previously placed sixth in the preliminaries at a time of 39.78 to earn a berth to the finals.
