SEARCY, Ark. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team wrapped up its 12-match road trip to start the 2022 campaign after falling in two matches on Saturday by a margin of 3-0 to Ouachita Baptist and 3-1 to Harding. UAH slips to 4-7 overall this season.
 
UAH looks ahead to the beginning of Gulf South Conference play for the 2022 season at home with two matches next weekend against West Alabama on Friday at 6 p.m. and Mississippi College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
OBU 3, UAH 0 (23-25, 14-25, 20-25)
The Chargers made a fight for a come-from-behind win to start the match before Ouachita Baptist edged out the first 25-23 for the early lead.
 
The Tigers gained momentum for a 25-14 win in the second before sealing their three-set victory by taking the third 25-20.
 
The Chargers defense posted 12 total blocks overall in the contest, led by 
Kiara Hill with five total blocks including a team-high two solo blocks.
 
UAH's defense additionally featured three players with 10 digs or more, including 
Shayla Libby's roster-leading 13 scoops. Libby also notched a team-high three service aces.
 
Colby Charland generated a double-double with 15 assists and 11 digs in the contest, as she matched her season-high dig total.
 
Offensively, 
Caroline Moyer led the Blue & White with seven kills, followed by 
Zharia Hubbard with four successful swats and a .364 hitting percentage.
 
HU 3, UAH 0 (26-24, 23-25, 14-25, 20-25)
The Chargers would win the opening set in come-from-behind fashion by a score of 26-24, before Harding won the ensuing three frames 25-23, 25-14 and 25-20.
 
UAH had a total of five players go into double-digit digs, led by 
Shayla Libby with a team-high 20. Libby also had a roster-leading three service aces.
 
Two Chargers notched double-doubles against the Bisons, including 
Gracie McGee with 11 kills and 17 digs along with 
Colby Charland with 12 digs and a season-high 37 assists.
 
Hailey Holshouser tied with McGee for second on the roster with 17 digs, while 
Tatiana Bonilla ranked third with 13 scoops in the matchup.
 
Paris Morris led the offense overall with 13 kills and a .371 hitting percentage, as she also added five total blocks defensively.
 
Zharia Hubbard also had a strong all-around performance with eight kills on a .304 hitting percentage in addition to a team-high eight total blocks.
