LIVINGSTON, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team dropped a Sunday matchup at West Alabama by a 2-1 final score in Gulf South Conference action. UAH slides to 1-4-2 (0-2-1 GSC), while UWA improves to 3-2-0 (2-0-0 GSC).

West Alabama went ahead in the 23rd minute of Sunday's contest on a goal by Dana Cruz, and the Tigers would hold onto the 1-0 advantage at the half despite UAH accruing two corner kicks in the first 45 minutes.

The Tigers extended their lead to 2-0 in the 54th minute on Saylor Richard's goal, but UAH was able to respond with a 62nd-minute marker by
Helena Gonzalez for her second goal of the season that cut the deficit to one.

Caroline Buchanan picked up her third assist of 2022 on the goal, which leads the Chargers roster.

Both sides would go scoreless in the ensuing 28 minutes as UWA won 2-1.

Hailey Hicks played the full time in goal on Sunday, as she notched four saves across 90 minutes of play.

UAH's offense generated five shots on goal against UWA, led by Buchanan, Gonzalez,
