Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team earned a 2-1 win on the road in Gulf South Conference action at Delta State on Sunday afternoon. UAH improves to 2-5-2 (1-3-1 GSC), while DSU drops to 6-5-0 (2-3-0 GSC).
 
The Lady Statesmen would strike early in the first half with a goal from Ilse Holtkamp at the 14:56 minute mark and would control the rest of the opening period to go into the halftime break holding a 1-0 lead.
 
Jayla Gillespie would score her first career collegiate goal in the 75^th minute to level the game at 1-1, and the freshman from Decatur would score again just four minutes later to give the Chargers a 2-1 lead. The visitors would see the game out for the remaining 11 minutes to earn the victory on the road.   
 
Adriana Wright played the full time in goal for the Chargers, collecting seven saves in the win and she navigated four DSU corner kicks.
 
The hosts outshot the visitors 13-4 on Sunday with eight on goal compared to the Chargers four.
 
The Chargers return to Huntsville with a few days to prepare for visits from Union on Friday and Christian Brothers next Sunday. Kick-off at Charger Park on Friday is set for 5 p.m.
