UAH Opens GSC Play at Charger Park Friday

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team is back at home for the start of Gulf South Conference play in the 2021 season with matches at Charger Park on Friday at 5 p.m. against West Florida followed by a Sunday contest against Spring Hill at 1 p.m.
 
Admission for this weekend's matches – and to all regular season events at Charger Park – is free courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

UAH enters the weekend with a 1-1-1 overall record through three matches in 2022, as the squad most recently picked up its first win of the season this past Saturday with a 3-0 shutout at Georgia Southwestern.
 
The Chargers offense is led by Carmen Endicott and Maialen Mera Torres so far this season, as both players have recorded two-goal performances for a team-high four points in 2022.
 
Caroline Buchanan leads the Chargers in assists with two apiece to give her eight helpers in her career.
 
Hailey Hicks and Adriana Wright have split time in goal for the Blue & White this season, with Wright owning a team-high 165 minutes played in 2022. The duo has combined for a 1.67 goals against average and .737 save percentage.
 
Entering this week's matchups, UAH has an all-time series record of 0-26-0 against West Florida and 7-1-1 against Spring Hill.
 
West Florida comes into the GSC opener with a 2-1-1 overall record after most recently falling to Florida Southern 1-0 on Sunday at home. The Argos offense is guided by Blair Cowan's team-high three goals, while Maciah Lipsey has played the majority of time in goal with a 0.38 goals against average and .909 save percentage.
 
Spring Hill starts out the weekend's slate with a 0-3-0 overall record in the 2022 season following a 3-0 loss to Eckerd at home on Sunday. SHC's offense is Haven Nail with two points on one goal, while Carlotta Stock has seen the most action in net for the Badgers with a 4.40 goals against average and .538 save percentage.
 
UAH is back action on the road next week, starting with a nonconference tilt at Tusculum on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
