HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team started off 2022 Gulf South Conference play with a 2-0 loss to West Florida at Charger Park on Friday evening. UAH dips to 1-2-1 (0-1-0 GSC), while UWF improves to 3-1-1 (1-0-0 GSC).

After over 30 minutes of scoreless action to start Friday's matchup, West Florida pulled ahead with the first goal of the afternoon by Manami Okada in the 31st minute followed by a marker from Kaytlyn Larsen in the 35th minute that put the visitors ahead 2-0.

Both sides went scoreless in the second half to bring the game to its 2-0 final score.

Adriana Wright played the full time in goal, picking up five saves in the loss. Wright additionally helped the Chargers navigate through 11 corner kicks by the Argonauts.

UAH is back in action on Sunday at 1 p.m. against visiting Spring Hill to continue the first weekend of GSC action.
