Women's Soccer Tripped Up by Mississippi College

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Mississippi College on Sunday afternoon at Charger Park. UAH moves to 6-5-2 (4-4-2 GSC) while the Choctaws now stand at 8-2-1 (7-2-0 GSC).

Mississippi College put four shots on goal in the first half but CeCe Szopa would make four stops in the first 45 minutes to see the two sides would go into the halftime break at 0-0.

Mississippi College scored four minutes into the second frame to go up 1-0 after Kaylee Foster directed home a cross for the visitors. Despite the Chargers late push in the second half, the Choctaws would hold on for a 1-0 victory.

Szopa recorded seven stops throughout the contest in goal for the Chargers.

UAH returns to Charger Park next weekend to host its final two home contests of the regular season, welcoming West Alabama for a 5pm kickoff on Friday before taking on the Tampa Spartans on Sunday for Senior Day at 11 a.m.
