Sam Wilhelm highlighted the UAH men's cross country team's second-place finish at the 2023 Gulf South Conference Cross Country as the GSC Individual Champion in Saturday's 8k race at John Hunt Park.
Wilhelm completed the course at a time with a time of 23:30.6, which made him the fifth GSC Individual Champion in program history.Â
His time of 23:30.6 additionally shatters both the program record set by Wilhelm at the 2022 UAH Invitational at a clocking of 23:48.0 as well as the GSC Championships overall 8k record that was previously set by Mississippi College's Jan Lukas Becker last season at a time of 23:50.7.
Wilhelm was joined as a First Team All-GSC honoree by
Nate Pohlsander who garnered ninth overall at 24:43.8.Â
The Chargers also generated a pair of Second Team All-GSC performers including
Nathan Knox in 11th at 24:48.4 and
Noah George in 16th at 24:57.9.
UAH's racing roster also featured

The Chargers now look ahead to the 2023 NCAA Division II South Region Cross Country Championships on the campus of Montevallo on Saturday, Nov. 4.Â
