HUNTSVILLE | College Sports Communicators announced its 2024-25 Men's Cross Country/Track & Field Academic All-America Teams on Wednesday, and UAH was represented by Sam Wilhelm as the 37th Academic All-America honoree in department history as a Second Team selection.
 
This is Wilhelm's second consecutive academic year in which he has earned the prestigious honor and he represents the third Academic All-American from UAH this season.
 
The Knob Noster, Missouri, native earned GSC Annual Awards for both cross country and track & field this season, including Runner of the Year for cross country and GSC Track Athlete of the Year for the indoor season. 
 
In cross country, Wilhelm posted a first-place performance at the 2024 GSC Championships and went on to earn his second straight All-American award at Nationals.
 
He followed up his cross country season by becoming the South Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year for the indoor season. 
 
Wilhelm is additionally a strong performer in the classroom, earning GSC All-Academic team honors in both cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field.
