MEMPHIS, Tenn. | The UAH cross country team competed at the 2025 Gulf South Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning as the No. 28 men's squad took second place overall, while the women placed third as a team.
Ahmed Ibrahim took home the individual title at the GSC Championships on the men's side and set a school record in the process with a 23:29.37 time, surpassing a record previously held by
Sam Wilhelm. Ibrahim marks the third straight Charger to win the individual title at the GSC Cross Country Championships.
UAH had five runners place inside the top 20 at the conference meet, with
Dakota Frank placing ninth (24:16.39),
Conner Patterson placing 12th (24:24.63),
Nate Pohlsander in 18th (24:44.63), and
Evan Christopher in 19th (24:45.65) along with Ibrahim's first place finish.
On the women's side,
Tamsyn Gibbs had the best finish of the day for UAH with an eighth place finish at 21:29.63.
Lexi Hinote (12th, 21:41.64) and
Catherine Truemper (16th, 21:52.87) additionally placed inside the top 20 for UAH.
Autumn Betts placed 25th at 22:10.78 and
Lindsey Barnes 26th at 22:12.07.
UAH now sets its sights on the NCAA postseason with the 2025 NCAA South Region Cross Country Championships in Lakeland, Fla. on November 8.
