Women's Soccer Picks up Nonconference Win Over Tampa on Senior Day

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 win over Tampa on Senior Day in nonconference action. UAH improves to 8-5-2 (5-4-2 GSC) while the Spartans slip to 4-4-5 (0-3-4 SSC).

Neither side would break the deadlock in the first half, with things all square at 0-0 at the halftime break.

Karli Newton picked up her first shutout on the season in goal for the Chargers, making three saves against Tampa on the afternoon.

The shutout today marks the fourth shutout on the season for the Charger defense.
