Volleyball Completes Reverse Sweep to Down Auburn Montgomery 3-2

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The UAH volleyball team completed a reverse sweep on the road in a Gulf South Conference matchup against Auburn Montgomery on Saturday afternoon, winning 3-2 (22-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-8). 

The Chargers improved to 10-5 (6-2 GSC), while the Warhawks dropped to 14-6 (4-4 GSC).

Three UAH players recorded double-digit kills in the match, with Autumn Mayes leading the squad at 15. She was followed by Zoe Smith with 12 and Caroline Moyer with 10. 

Smith highlighted the team in digs with 18 for the match, as five Chargers corralled 10 or more in the contest. 

Savannah Rutledge was the assist leader for the Chargers with 41, while the senior also contributed four kills. 

Kiara Hill highlighted the UAH defense with six blocks, bringing her total for the weekend to 10.5 swats.

The Warhawks took the first set 25-22 and the second set 25-19 as the Chargers hit .032 and .079 attack percentages in the first games. 
 
In the third set, the tide would turn as UAH hit a stellar .517 attack percentage with 16 kills in a 25-17 set win. 

The fourth set was highlighted by three service aces from the Chargers that proved to be the difference in a 25-23 set. 

In the fifth, UAH hit a high percentage once again at .462, with a pair of aces and seven kills in the clinching 15-8 victory.
 
UAH heads back to Huntsville for a pair of weekend matchups with Christian Brothers and Union on Friday and Saturday.
