Men's Basketball Staggers Shorter 82-73 on the Road

ROME, Ga. | The UAH men's basketball team completed a two-game road trip weekend with a win over Shorter in Gulf South Conference play, winning 82-73 just two days after a victory over Lee on Friday. The Chargers improved to 6-3 (4-1 GSC) with the win while the Hawks dropped to 3-7 (1-5 GSC). 
 
The win over Shorter marks the 10th consecutive win for the Chargers in the series, with their last loss coming in 2017.

Junior Jack Kostel led the way for the Blue & White as he went 11-12 from the field with a 2-3 mark at the free throw line. The Dacula, Georgia, native scored 24 points for a season and career high in points. Kostel had six rebounds to lead UAH in the category.

Luke Burnett scored 17 points, while Daniel Saylor had 14 points with a 4-5 performance from the field and went 6-7 at the line. 

Overall, UAH shot 58.5 percent (31-53) from the field and 88.2 percent (15-17) from the free throw line. The 88.2 percent mark is the highest percentage that the Chargers have recorded this season.
 
Defensively, Saylor and Burnett each contributed a block, while Tommy Murr and Burnett had two steals apiece. 
 
The Chargers are back home for a pair of GSC opponents next weekend as they will take on Delta State and Mississippi College on Friday and Sunday.
