HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball team went down to the wire in a 55-53 victory over visiting Delta State at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Friday night in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 4-5 (3-3 GSC), while DSU slides to 4-7 (2-5 GSC).

Sophomore
Madie Krieger provided the Chargers go-ahead basket with less than a second to play, as part of a three-point play to finish the night with 11 points. Krieger went 5-for-8 from the field in the contest across 27 minutes off the bench to help UAH to the late victory.

Fellow sophomore
Bellah Machen scored a team-best 12 points, thanks to a 4-for-8 performance on three-pointers. Machen played 33 minutes on the night, which was second-most on
Andrea Lemmond's roster.

Bellah White pulled down a season-high and team-best 11 rebounds in addition to leading the squad with 34 minutes played and three assists.

UAH's defense was strong in the contest, limiting Delta State to 32.2 percent (19-59) from the floor and 2-for-16 on three-pointers.

The Chargers have now won back-to-back GSC games for the first time in 2023-24.
