HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team won its second game of the homestand with a dominant 71-48 victory over visiting Mississippi College on Sunday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 5-5 (4-3 GSC), while MC slides to 3-8 (2-6 GSC).

Haley Nichols had a season-best performance to lead the Chargers offense on Sunday with a team-high 14 points as she went 6-for-8 from the field and 2-for-3 on three-pointers. Nichols additionally logged four rebounds and two assists for the team.

Nichols was joined in double figures byÂ
Bella White and Elyse Hughes with 13 points and 10 points, respectively. In the win, White recorded a team-high seven rebounds.

Madie Krieger helped guide the Chargers offense with a team-high four assists.

The Chargers excelled from the field against the Choctaws, putting up a 51.9 field-goal percentage (27-52) for the contest while holding the visitors to a 32.1 percent clip.

Andrea Lemmond's squad, and the 23-point win is the largest margin of victory for the Chargers since they took on Mississippi College last season. UAH has outscored the Choctaws by over 50 combined points over the previous two meetings between the teams.

The Chargers recent hot streak features victories in four of the past five games, three of which have come at home.
