Box Score 2 COLUMBUS, Ga. | The No. 17 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team opened up play at the NFCA Division II Leadoff Classic with a 12-4 win over Georgia Court in six innings followed by a 1-0 victory against No. 25 Wilmington on Friday in nonconference action. UAH improves to 11-3 with Friday's wins.

UAH is back in action on Saturday at the NFCA Division II Leadoff Classic with games against Northern State at 2 p.m. and Carson-Newman at 4:30 p.m.

UAH 12, GCU (Six innings)
The Chargers put together rallies of four runs or more in two innings, including a five-run top of the sixth, which powered UAH to a 12-4 victory over Georgian Court on Friday afternoon.

Jada Henderson slugged her second home run of the season as part of her 2-for-4 day at the plate with two runs and three RBI. Her homer capped off a four-run rally by the Chargers in the top of the first.

Maddie Cartron also drove in three runs to tie with Henderson for the team lead in the victory, while going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

UAH recorded 15 base hits as a team, led by
Kinley Adams with a 3-for-4 day at the plate with a roster-best three runs scored. In total, six Chargers had multi-hit performances.

Grace O'Berry picked up the win in relief to improve to 2-1 this season, after tossing the final 3.2 innings with zero earned runs allowed and four strikeouts.

UAH 1, WU 0
Katie Bracken needed only one run from the UAH offense to guide the Chargers to the 1-0 win to wrap up the day, as the freshman dazzled in a three-hit, 7.0-inning shutout with 12 strikeouts and zero walks.

Bracken improves to 4-0 in the 2023 campaign, while pushing her total strikeouts to a team-high 45 in the win. She has fanned 10 or more batters in three games this season so far.

Cartron provided the lone run production by the Chargers against the Wildcats with an RBI single in the first that drove in
Lawren Hayes from third base.

Adams again led the Chargers with two hits in the contest, as UAH totaled five as a team against Wilmington.
