HUNTSVILLE | The College Sports Communicators organization has announced their Academic All District Team for Division II, and the University of Alabama in Huntsville's
Alaina Taylor has earned the honor as a result of her showing in the classroom and on the court during her junior year.
Taylor is one of 11 Gulf South Conference athletes to be named to the Academic All-District team and is the first UAH women's basketball player to receive the honor since 2020.Â
The junior has maintained a 3.8 GPA and is majoring in Nursing.Â
Taylor led the Chargers in three pointers for the season, sinking 45 from deep at a 40.5 percent clip, while putting up 8.6 points per game.
District 5 is composed of institutions from the Gulf South Conference, Sunshine State Conference, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and voting is conducted by the region's athletics communications professionals who are members of CSC.
Academic All District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All America ballot. First, second and third team Academic All America honorees will be announced in mid-March.Â
