MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team upended No. 8 Montevallo by a final score of 8-5 on Sunday afternoon in the final game of a three-game Gulf South Conference series. UAH improves to 9-10 (2-4 GSC), while UM dips to 15-2 (5-1 GSC).

The Chargers powered their way to the 8-5 victory on Sunday with seven of their eight runs coming by way of the home run, as
Colin Brewer,
Garrett Bodine and
Brennan Vasquez all went yard in the matchup.

Brewer and Vasquez tied for the team lead with three RBI apiece as both hit three-run home runs in the contest, with Brewer's coming in the first and Vasquez providing insurance with his round-tripper in the seventh. Bodine also hit his homer – a solo shot – in the seventh as part of a four-run rally.

Bodine and Vasquez additionally tied for the team lead with two base hits in the contest, with the Chargers recording nine base hits as a team. Both of Vasquez's hits went for extra bases as he also recorded a double against the Falcons.

Carson Villalta drew a team-high two walks while going 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Will Hotalen notched the win in his start on Sunday to improve to 3-1 this season, after tossing 5.0 innings with one run allowed and six strikeouts.

Justin Perrault notched his first save of the season with 2.0 scoreless innings with one strikeout to close out Sunday's win.
