HUNTSVILLE | The No. 9 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team returns to Charger Park with a three-game Gulf South Conference series against West Florida starting with the opening game on Friday at 4 p.m. followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday.

The Chargers enter the weekend with a 16-4 overall record and a 5-1 mark in GSC play this season, after most recently taking 2-of-3 in a series at Montevallo last weekend.

The Chargers pitching staff enters the weekend set ranked third in the GSC with a 2.80 team ERA over 135.0 innings this season, as
Katie Bracken (1.20 ERA/40.2 IP),
Grace O'Berry (2.23 ERA, 22.0 IP) and
Megan Shurtz (3.22 ERA/37.0 IP) all boast sub-3.30 ERAs with 20 or more innings pitched.

West Florida comes into the GSC series in the Rocket City with an 8-7 overall record and a 2-3 mark in GSC contests this season, following two wins and a loss against Delta State at home last weekend. The Argos offense is guided by Madelyn Vasquez with eight doubles and 15 runs, while UWF's pitching staff owns a 3.30 team ERA.
