HUNTSVILLE | The No. 5 University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team opens the week's slate with two doubleheaders at Charger Park including top-five showdown with No. 1 North Georgia on Tuesday at 12 p.m. along with a Wednesday matchup with Miles at 1 p.m. The doubleheader against Miles was originally scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., but forecasted rain caused the change to 1 p.m.
Admission to this week's games – and every regular season home game – is free again this season courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

The Chargers open the week with a 28-5 overall record and a 15-2 mark in Gulf South Conference play, following the program's first-ever sweep at Delta State this past Saturday and Sunday. UAH capped off the weekend with a dominant 19-4 victory, as the team recorded its most runs, hits, RBI, extra-base hits and home runs this season in the contest.

UAH currently ranks 15th in NCAA Division II with a team .350 batting average with a total of seven lineup regulars batting .330 or higher through 33 games this season. The Chargers are also amongst the top 15 in the nation with a .435 team on-base percentage and 7.42 runs per game.

Kinley Adams leads the squad with a .452 average to rank 36th nationally, followed closely by
Lawren Hayes at .439. Hayes additionally boasts a team-high 80 total bases to rate sixth in the GSC.

UAH's pitching has also excelled this season with a GSC-low 2.66 ERA, as the staff is led by freshman
Katie Bracken who leads the conference at a 1.17 ERA over 72.0 innings pitched.
Megan Shurtz has also been strong in the circle, as she ranks eighth in the GSC with a 2.86 ERA over 66.0 innings.

The Chargers hold all-time series records of 15-14 against North Georgia and 28-0 against Miles.

North Georgia starts out the week with a 37-1 overall record and an 18-0 record in Peach Belt Conference play this season, after most recently sweeping Young Harris over the weekend. The Nighthawks offense averages 8.52 runs per game with a .373 team batting average, while the UNG pitching staff has a 1.81 team ERA.

Miles opens up the week's schedule with a 15-13 overall record and a 9-2 mark in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action, following a three-game sweep of Kentucky State this past weekend. The Golden Bears offense is led by DeOnia Gibby with a .453 batting average and 22 RBI, while MC's pitching staff has an 8.96 team ERA.
