HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's and women's track & field teams combined for a total of 28 All-South Region honorees as announced by the USTFCCCA.

The Chargers men's squad featured a total of 15 individuals receiving all-region honors, including
Justin Bensinger (shot put, hammer),
Elijah Drake (4x100m),
Michael Gizzi (4x100m relay, 100m, 200m),
Jeremiah McCain (400m hurdles),
Wilson McClain (4x100m relay, 110m hurdles),
Tommy Rodriguez (4x100m),
Sage Robertson (decathlon),
Andrew Skipworth (discus),
Jared Tittle (javelin) and
Sam Wilhelm (5000m, 10000m).

On the women's side, UAH's All-South Region awardees included
Ijah Drake (4x100m, 100m, 200m, 100m hurdles),
Lauren Hamm (pole vault),
Ann Hampton (pole vault),
Zakiria Holifield (4x100m, 100m),
Katie Long (javelin),
Krystalynn Oatman (4x100m, 100m),
Chandler Robinson (4x100m), and
Bailey Weible (discus)

Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.

The Chargers have additionally combined to qualify for a total of five events at the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Thursday through Saturday in Pueblo, Colorado. Gizzi and McClain will represent the UAH men's team, while Drake, Holifield Oatman and Robinson will compete from the Charger women's squad.
