MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The UAH men's and women's cross country teams continued the 2023 season at the Montevallo Falcon Classic on Friday with a first-place finish in the men's team standings and second on the women's side.

Freshman
Noah George garnered the individual championship in the men's 8k with a first-place time of 25:04.8, while sophomore
Amelia Brady guided the Chargers in the women's 5k race placing third overall at a clocking of 18:04.7.

The UAH men – who entered the race ranked No. 29 nationally – placed a total of six runners in the top eight, including George,
Nathan Knox (2nd, 25:15.2),
Nate Pohlsander (4th, 25:29.2),
Will Thompson (5th, 25:42.7),
Conner Patterson (7th, 25:50.7), and
Will Anglea (8th, 25:51.9).

The Chargers women's squad was buoyed by four runners in the top 20 of the field, which included Brady,
Abby Weist (7th, 18:58.0),
Aylin Vega (12th, 19:17.6),
Sophia Knox (15th, 19:22.7) and
Mary Frances Mattingly (19:27.7).

UAH looks ahead to competing in the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Oklahoma, next Saturday.
