VALDOSTA, Ga. | The UAH women's soccer team captured a 2-1 victory at Valdosta State on Friday night in Gulf South Conference play. UAH improves to 4-2-0 (2-1-0 GSC), while VSU slides to 3-2-2 (1-2-0 GSC).

This was the program's first-ever win on the road at Valdosta State.

The Chargers battled back from an early 1-0 deficit as
Gracie Gustafson scored in the 41st minute to make it a 1-1 tie before the half.

The contest remained tied until an 81st-minute tally by
Evelina Gustafsson provided the Chargers the lead and the 2-1 victory.

Gustafson now has two goals in the 2023 campaign, while Gustafsson registers her first goal of the season.

UAH generated five shots on goal in the contest, with five different Chargers notching shots on target against the Blazers.

CeCe Szopa played the full time in goal for the Chargers in the win, as she matched a season-high five saves in the matchup. Szopa additionally navigated eight corner kick opportunities by VSU on the way to the win.
