HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's soccer team picked up its second consecutive victory to begin the 2023 season with a 3-0 thumping of Tusculum at Charger Park on Sunday afternoon. UAH rises to 2-0-0, while TU drops to 0-1-1.
This is the first time the Chargers have won back-to-back games to start their season since 2009.
Carmen Endicott broke the scoreless affair after converting from the penalty spot in the 33
rd minute followed by a tally from
Laura Hasani just five minutes before halftime to see the hosts hold a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Hannah Szopa would go on to score her first career collegiate goal in the 62
nd minute as the Chargers would roll on to a 3-0 victory.
Ardis Haskell logged just under 62 minutes of action in net for UAH making two saves in the process as she and
Karli Newton would combine for the Chargers first shutout of the 2023 campaign.
UAH fired seven shots on target and created seven corner kicks compared to the Pioneers two.
The Blue & White will be back in action next weekend to host Sunshine State Conference opponent Nova Southeastern on Friday at 5 p.m. at Charger Park.
