HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's basketball team trounced visiting Valdosta State by a final score of 85-59 on Thursday night at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 11-4 (9-2 GSC), while VSU slides to 6-9 (3-8 GSC).

Tommy Murr guided the Chargers offense in the home victory with a team-high 21 points, as the junior went 7-for-13 from the field across a roster-leading 35 minutes on the floor.

He has now recorded 20 or more points on five occasions in 2023-24.

Murr was joined in double-digits by
Daniel Saylor at 11 points and
Luke Burnett at 10 points. Saylor also registered three rebounds, two assists and one block against the Blazers.

Jack Kostel registered a strong all-around performance with a team-high seven rebounds and seven assists to go along with six points and two steals.

Kostel has notched six or more rebounds and five or more assists in three consecutive games to start the 2024 calendar year.

Overall, UAH shot 59.3 (32-for-54) from the field and 42.9 percent (12-28) on three-pointers. The Chargers also held the edge over the Blazers in rebounds (38-31) and bench points (36-22).

A total of 21 of the Chargers 32 made baskets were assisted, as UAH had six players record multi-assist games.

UAH returns to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Saturday at 4 p.m. to continue the three-game homestand against visiting West Florida.
