Women's Basketball Back at Home Thursday and Saturday

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball team returns home to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall for two games in the next three days with visits from Gulf South Conference foes Shorter on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Lee on Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
The Chargers Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is hosting International Student-Athlete Night as part of Thursday's contest, while Saturday's game is highlighted as Military Appreciation Day presented by AUSA.

General admission to all UAH women's basketball regular season home games is free this season, courtesy of Bentley Automotive. Reserved seating is additionally available for purchase online through HomeTown Ticketing.
 
UAH enters the week with a 7-11 overall record and a 6-9 mark in GSC play, after most recently falling in overtime at West Alabama on Saturday. Bellah Machen led the offense on Saturday with 15 points for her fourth 15-plus point performance of the season.
 
Bella White was recognized as the GSC Freshman of the Week for the second time in 2023-24, as she averaged a double-double with 11.3 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game over three contests. This season, she is UAH's rebounding leader and ranks fourth in the GSC with 7.3 points over game.
 
The Chargers are currently averaging 60.3 points per game this campaign, led by Jesse Jennings at 10.4 points per game.
 
Shorter comes into Thursday's game 1-17 overall and 0-15 in GSC play, following a 55-30 loss at home to AUM on Saturday. The Hawks average 53.8 points per game, paced by Tiara Lewis at 11.9 points per game.
 
Lee begins the week's slate with a 12-7 overall record that includes a 10-5 mark in GSC play, after a 69-51 win at home over Montevallo on Saturday. The Flames average 65.4 points per game, led by Mallory Hampton's scoring average of 19.8.
 
UAH holds all-time series records of 18-13 against Shorter and 6-17 against Lee.
 
After Saturday's game, the Chargers look ahead to a three-game road stint starting at Delta State next Thursday.
