Men's Basketball Holds Off Late Charge to Down CBU

MEMPHIS | The UAH men's basketball team won their fifth consecutive road game and sixth straight game overall on Saturday as they defeated Christian Brothers 61-60. The Chargers improved to 10-3 (8-1 GSC), while the Bucs fell to 6-6 (4-5 GSC). 
 
The win over CBU marks the 10th consecutive win for the Chargers in the series and are now 33-9 all-time against the Bucs.

Junior Jack Kostel led the way for the Blue & White as he went 5-7 from the field with a 4-4 mark at the free throw line. The Dacula, Georgia, native scored 16 points and led the team with five assists.

Luke Burnett scored 12 points, while Daniel Saylor had 10 points with a 5-6 performance from the field and hauled in a team high seven rebounds.

Overall, UAH shot 41.5 percent (22-53) from the field and 70 percent (7-10) from the free throw line. The Chargers shot 29.4 percent from three (10-34).
 
Defensively, Kostel and Saylor each had a pair of steals, while Saylor had the team's lone shot block of the game.
 
The Chargers will travel to Jackson, Tenn. on Monday to take on Union at 5 p.m.
