Volleyball Wins Eighth Straight in Victory Over West Alabama

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team swept their fourth consecutive GSC foe on Tuesday evening as they downed West Alabama by set scores of 25-23, 25-11, and 25-18.

The Chargers improved to 13-1 (4-0 GSC) with the win, while the Tigers dropped to 1-12 (0-4 GSC).

UAH has now won eight straight matches, their longest win streak since 2018 when they won 11 straight matches. The sweep is the eighth of the season for the Chargers, the highest total in the GSC.

Kaila Sisk led the Charger offense in kills with four on the night and a .444 hitting percentage to go along with a block. Kayla Ward and Grace-Blythe Cornett each tallied four kills apiece, as Ward tacked on a block and one ace and Cornett recorded two blocks.

Emily Redman had three of the Chargers' five aces of the match in the second set and led UAH in the category. The Chattanooga, Tenn., native also had three kills in the match.

Tatiana Bonilla led the squad in digs with nine, while Autumn Mayes recorded seven.

The Chargers get back in action on Friday when they host Valdosta State at 6 pm.
