HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's soccer team's win streak was snapped in a close 1-0 loss to visiting Union at Charger Park on Sunday in Gulf South Conference action. UAH slides to 5-5-1 (4-2-1 GSC), while UU improves to 4-2-2 (3-0-2 GSC).

Union took an early lead in the 14th minute on a goal by Claire Maxon, and the Bulldogs would hang on for the 1-0 victory over the Chargers in a tough defensive matchup.

UAH goalkeeper
CeCe Szopa posted three saves against the Bulldogs while navigating five corner kick opportunities by the visitors. She has allowed one or fewer goals in eight games this season.

Szopa benefitted from a 90-minute defensive performance from Campbell Tarantino.

UAH generated two shots on goal against Union, with
Katey Ann Klingel and
Addison Knauss putting one shot on target apiece.

The Chargers look ahead to a pair of road matchups in the Magnolia State next weekend at Delta State on Friday and Mississippi College on Sunday.
