MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The UAH volleyball team swept their fifth straight Gulf South Conference road contest of the season as they defeated Montevallo 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-17).
The Chargers improved to 17-2 (8-1 GSC) with the win, while the Falcons fell to 8-11 (5-4 GSC). The victory marked the 11th sweep of the season for the Blue & White.
The first set was the most contested set of the evening, with the Falcons holding a six point advantage at one point at 12-6 before a 12-to-6 run to knot things up at 18-18. UAH finished the set with 15 kills and five blocks.
Caroline Moyer led the Charger attack with 10 kills and a .280 hitting percentage.
Autumn Mayes had the second highest kill total at nine, while the senior also had six digs and a block assist.
Kayla Ward and
Mary Grace Bundrant put on a blocking clinic in Tuesday evening's match as the pair paced a 12 block performance by the Chargers. The duo rank first and second in the GSC in blocks per set this season.
Tatiana Bonilla had 11 digs to lead UAH, while
Savannah Rutledge and
Kelsey Gasaway combined for 27 assists.
Next up, UAH heads to Montgomery to take on Auburn Montgomery on Friday evening at 6 p.m.
