HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team won a Friday night Gulf South Conference match on Pink Night in Spragins Hall against Trevecca Nazarene in four sets 3-1.
The Chargers improved to 19-3 (10-2 GSC) with the win, while the Trojans dropped to 9-14 (6-6 GSC). Â
UAH won the first set 25-19 as senior libero
Tatiana Bonilla reached the 1,000 career digs mark in the set as she notched six. TNU would grab the second set 25-16 before UAH handled the final two sets of the match 25-20 and 25-22 in a hard-fought match.Â
Offensively,
Kayla Ward and
Grace-Blythe Cornett each totaled 11 kills in the match to lead the Chargers. Ward, the GSC's leader in blocks per set this season, put up eight block assists and one solo block to highlight the UAH defense at the net.Â
Caroline Moyer also contributed five block assists to the defensive cause.
Kelsey Gasaway had 17 assists as
Savannah Rutledge dished out 23 assists to lead UAH in the category. Bonilla put up 15 digs for the most on the team.
Next up, UAH welcomes in Lee for a 2 pm match at Spragins Hall on Saturday.
