HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team won a Saturday afternoon Gulf South Conference match in Spragins Hall against Lee in a sweep, taking down the Flames 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 29-27).
The Chargers moved to 20-3 (11-2 GSC) with the sweep, while the Lady Flames dropped to 14-11 (8-5 GSC). Â
Efficient hitting gave UAH the advantage in the first two sets as they had a .481 attack percentage in the first set and a .455 percentage in the second. The Chargers posted eight aces and seven blocks in the first two sets of the match.
Autumn Mayes led the way for the Blue & White offensively with 14 kills and a .281 hitting percentage to go along with six digs and an ace.
Kayla Ward had seven kills and three blocks to lead UAH in the category.
Caroline Moyer,
Mary Grace Bundrant, and
Grace-Blythe Cornett each contributed two blocks apiece in the win.
Savannah Rutledge dished out 27 assists to lead the Chargers and
Hailey Holshouser had a team-high seven aces in the match.
Next up, UAH will visit Livingston, Ala. to face off with West Alabama on Tuesday evening.Â
